Morris, Smith, And Tallent Named Naia Scholar-Athletes

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) recently announced their 2023 Daktronics Women's Basketball Scholar-Athletes. Holy Cross College had three women's basketball student-athletes named Scholar-Athletes of the 873 recipients nationwide.

In order to be nominated, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport, and have attended one full year at the institution.

 

Junior Lauren Morris and sophomores Anna Tallent and Jordyn Smith were named 2023 Daktronics NAIA Women's Basketball Scholar-Athletes.

 

Lauren Morris, from Fishers, Indiana, was also awarded a NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete for the 2021-2022 season. She appeared in all 29 games for the Saints this season, starting in ten of those.

 

Anna Tallent, originally from Plainfield, Indiana, completed her second season with the Holy Cross College women's basketball program. She appeared in 25 games for the Saints this year.

 

Jordyn Smith, who prepped at local Penn High School in Granger, Indiana, started in all 29 games for the women's basketball team and was also awarded Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Honorable Mention All-Conference.
